With a continued focus on Safety, and excellent compliance with our ISO45001:2018 Accreditation, we are looking to onboard a Safety Leader with strong stakeholder management and excellent people skills.
OHS Leader
- This role will be based in Seaford and will require occasional travel to our 9 Contract areas across Victoria.
Role requirements:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and factory, onsite and vehicle inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions and to monitor compliance.
- Collaborate with management to integrate health and safety best practices into daily operations.
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
- Provide leadership and guidance to management, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence.
- Conduct training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, procedures and how to prevent injury.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Monitor Subcontractor compliance with all of Freedom FM Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in legislation, and update company policies accords.
We are looking for someone who has:
- 3 years+ experience in a similar OHS/WHS/HSR role.
- A valid qualification in OHS
- A Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety. Alternatively, if you have a bachelor degree or experience in a relevant industry, a Graduate Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety would be sufficient.
- Good analytical and risk assessment skills and knowledge
- Experience working within the construction sector/industry is mandatory.
- Excellent communication and software skills.
