We are an acute medical and surgical hospital with 240 beds, conveniently located in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne easily accessible via the Monash Freeway and East Link. Our services include:
- a 24-hour Emergency Department
- 10 bed Intensive Care Unit

About the role
We are seeking an experienced OHS professional looking to advance their career. An exciting time to come on board as we are in a phase of significant growth and will offer the right candidate the opportunity to make their mark in our hospital.

Reporting to the Executive, you will drive a positive safety culture by engaging all workers to take a proactive approach to their own safety.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the organisations OHS Management System by developing, implementing and maintaining local procedures including safe operating procedures
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote awareness of OHS improvement activities
- Coordinating and overseeing the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, including liaising with medical professionals and insurers
- Guiding and educating managers and other staff with regard to OHS, including workplace inspections etc and Injury management/return to work matters
- Undertaking risk assessments, audits etc to identify potential hazards and process and system issues, and implementing preventative measures to reduce risk.
- Developing and delivering OHS related training programs
- Coordination of OHS, Radiation Safety and Emergency Management committee’s
Demonstrated experience in the health care sector with sound knowledge of relevant ACHS accreditation standards will be highly regarded.
As the successful candidate you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications and evidenced experience in OHS/WHS
- Cert IV Training & Assessment
- Experience in the management of WorkCover claims
- Strong knowledge of OHS Legislation
- Demonstrated skills in Incident reporting and investigation principles, including regulatory reporting
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with internal and external stakeholders
The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
