Position Descriptor:
Teaching and learning at OAC occurs in an online learning environment. Teachers work in teaching teams using the Gradual Release of Responsibility (GRR) pedagogical framework to develop innovative and engaging curriculum, pedagogy, resources and learning experiences for our diverse range of students. Use of student data and evidence of learning is integral to knowing each student and in planning and tracking their learning.
In addition to teaching mainstream AC, OAC primary teachers also teach alternative programs. Ability to successfully work with a diversity of students who have complex learning and behavioural needs (many with trauma and anxiety) is essential. This involves developing and implementing quality One Plans that address the functional needs of students through appropriate adjustments to ensure growth.
Teachers are expected to provide face to face learning opportunities for their students. This involves intrastate travel, overnight stays and working flexible hours within an extended day
