About the role:
In this newly created role, we seek an experienced hands-on Operations Excellence leader with cross industry experience, with a goal to develop the perfect process and inspire those involved to do better daily.
As the Operations Excellence Lead you will lead the charge of Operational Excellence across our business driving sustainable, strategic business change, targeting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Working closely with the Management, the shopfloor team members and the retail team, you will identify, plan and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Define the Operational Excellence roadmap for the company
- Planning and establishing programs of work to convert opportunities into initiatives as well as managing program execution across identified initiatives.
- Providing vision and leadership across the projects
- Coaching and support of team members
- Coordinating and facilitating improvement events/workshops to improve & achieve operational outcomes
- Facilitating and documenting Value Stream Analysis and Design maps
- Training and coaching Continuous Improvement methodologies across functions
- Analysis of complex data sets to identify improvement opportunities for end-to-end business
- Participating in CI activities across site including quality, cycle time, process improvement, process flow, machine availability, material flow and waste removal
- Support & validation of Root Cause Analysis on Waste, Quality and Downtime issues
- Developing and implementing KPIs to improve daily production outcomes & CI initiatives
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 8 - 10+ years of relevant experience - ideally including experience in consulting roles and/or working in complex project environments.
- Lean Six Sigma Black belt certified
- Exceptional understanding of Lean Six Sigma business process improvement tools and methods (VSM, SMED, Product & Information Flow, Material Flow, Waste Identification, Kanban, SMED, Cell Design, Line Balancing, Kanban, A3, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to lead & manage timebound project deliverables
- Training of teams to implement lean behaviours and processes
- Demonstrated capability to work effectively with people in frontline, middle management, and senior leaders
- Ability to collect, manipulate and analyse data
- Process mapping
- Tableau skill (desirable)
- Advanced Excel skill (desirable)
