About the role
Reporting to the Manager Building Projects & Services, the Operations Manager Building Delivery will deliver a range of integrated strategic and operational projects that supports the objectives of Council’s Community Strategic Plan and Delivery Program.
The role will offer specialist technical advice and services to Council’s internal and external stakeholders and provide quality organisational wide project delivery services in accordance with Council’s Delivery Program through a service-oriented, business-based approach.
The role will also manage tenders, including preparation of project documentation, specifications and other documents to coordinate the tendering process and implementing Council’s contractual decisions. The role will provide input into the development and management of Council’s Capital Works program and manage contractual obligations as they relate to the execution and performance of contracts.
As the Operations Manager Building Delivery, you will be responsible for a team of professionals, ensuring projects are conducted as required in accordance with Council objectives. As a leader within the Infrastructure & Works group, you will foster a positive and collaborative work environment and support staff in the execution of their daily duties. With a high commitment to safety, you will lead by example and drive a culture of accountability.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess degree level qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectureor related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant trade qualifications / training coupled with experience. You will have contemporary industry experience in civic building and public infrastructure projects and contract management.
You will have a natural ability to lead, coach and support staff and a capacity to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your commitment to modelling and promoting a positive workplace culture will be reflected in your own values and your ability to consult with all levels of the organisation in a respectful and thoughtful manner. Most importantly, you will bring a strategic, business-focused approach to Council projects and operational requirements.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time opportunity. This position will work 35 hours per week with a competitive salary on offer commencing from $125,400 per year plus 10.5% super, which will be negotiated at time of offer with the successful candidate. The position also includes a leaseback vehicle. You will also be eligible to participate in Council’s Roster Day Off (RDO) scheme.
