We're seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and driven Operations Manager or potential GM to join our highly experienced concrete pumping team, based from our Slacks Creek depot.

Specialised Concrete Pumping (SCP) is an industry leading concrete pumping specialist that operates Nationally and offers one of the largest and most diverse fleet of concrete pumping equipment in Australia. SCP's core business is concrete pumping and has earned us the reputation of being undisputed market and industry leaders - we're proud to have one of the largest separate placing boom fleets in the world and one of the few companies in Australia to offer placing booms larger than 37 metres.
The Role
The Operations Manager is a multi-faceted role, so if you like doing the same thing day in and day out, this is not the position for you. Overseeing daily operations of projects and staff, and supporting SCP in its future growth - it's a varied and interesting position that has the potential to transition into a General Manager role for the right person!
Overview of key responsibilities include:
Projects: Oversee & work with Project Managers & Staff to ensure projects are deployed & delivered safely, effectively & within budget - from scheduling through to completion.
Staff: Hire & oversee management, training & development of the SCP team, including 25-30 concrete pumping staff, supervisors & office admin team. Support & model a positive culture, building strong morale & encouraging a team-based environment.
Stakeholders: As main point of contact, collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including PMs, subcontractors, clients & suppliers - proactively solving problems when they arise.
Operations: Implement processes/procedures to effectively manage & improve operations of the business. Ensure all safety documentation, regulatory responsibility, procedures, policies & protocols are current & complied with. Manage maintenance & oversee QC.
Business: Contribute to the direction & growth of SCP, participate in strategic planning & look for ways to optimise business processes. Develop & deliver reports & assist with compiling & setting budgets for new tenders.
What are we looking for
- 5+ yrs experience in a similar role (concrete industry desirable)
- Strong understanding of the construction industry with strong management/supervisory skills
- High level problem solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to manage day to day operations whilst creating a strategic vision for the future
- Positive nature, with an ability to motivate, support and manage staff to meet goals
- Ability to work under pressure from time to time to get great results (on occasion be available & flexible during irregular hours to meet last minute needs of customers)
- Commitment to OH&S policies & requirements with a proven track record of effectively ensuring site safety
