Who we’re looking for:
The objective of the Operations Systems Specialist role within the Airline Operations Technology team is to work collaboratively with VA’s Workforce Planning team, in particular the team who look after workforce planning and rosters for our Airports-based teams (Guest Services, Ramp), to improve systems that support them in achieving their business objectives. In doing so, the Operations Systems Specialist will work closely with their business customers and other technology teams to support innovative outcomes that help the Workforce Planning team maintain compliance and improve operational efficiency.

The objective of the Airline Operations Technology team is to partner closely with our customers in achieving their goals in safety, compliance and efficiency; through the use of innovative systems, solutions and specialist advice.

What you’ll be doing:
Developing strong relationships and partnering with the Workforce Planning teams to understand their business objectives, pain points and where the Technology team can help
Capture and document business requirements as required
Assist with identifying solutions that align to the requirements, business strategy and technology roadmap
Support with the development of funding requests and project implementations
Create and co-ordinate the delivery of change requests
Set up and participate in regular Workforce Planning and Technology forums to ensure IT/operational issues are tracked, escalated and actioned as required
Be a point of escalation into IT as required
Collaborate with other Technology teams to identify opportunities for system synergies and improvements for inclusion in the Airline Operations Technology roadmap
Support with testing if possible and where requested

You’ll be great in this role if you:
3-5 years’ (or more) experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst or Subject Matter Expert.
Experience with airline Workforce Planning systems for Airport-based staff (Guest Services, Ramp) is preferred.
Demonstrated skills in business requirements gathering, problem solving, identifying and assessing solutions, ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external.
Exposure to project planning and delivery.
Experience in initiating and driving improvements to process, policy and systems to improve performance.
Knowledge of other airline operations systems, software applications and procedures is desirable
