Perioperative Services
Cabrini Perioperative Services is a vibrant and dynamic environment with 17 operating theatres including a Hybrid theatre, with an addition of 3 endoscopy rooms and 2 Cardiac Cath Labs spread across 2 levels in a spacious and modern facility equipped with advanced technology. Providing a full range of surgical specialties, with more than 1800 operations each month, every theatre and cath lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide patient centred care. Our 3 day-of-surgery admission points and staff focus on every patient having a positive experience with their admission to theatre, while our 3 Post-Anaesthetic Care Units and 2 discharge lounges cater for all specialist post-operative care requirements.
The Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Orderly to join our theatres at Cabrini Malvern. We offer a supportive environment where the team work closely to achieve best patient outcomes and provide high standards of care.
The applicant needs to be a caring person who is passionate about helping others, as a large focus of the orderly role involves patient transport and interaction. The Orderly role requires the successful candidate to be flexible in their working hours and have availability to work a seven-day roster.
Key responsibilities include:
Transporting patients, equipment and courier items around the hospital.
Providing support and assistance, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other clinical staff.
Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
Contribute to the team, cooperate and communicate.
Performs cleaning duties, waste management & maintains cleanliness of equipment.
How you will make an impact
We are seeking preferably someone with previous experience as an orderly, or from a similar work environment, but not essential. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with initiative and energy to support the theatre environment.
You will also have:
Flexible working availability as will be scheduled over a 7-day roster.
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to take direction.
Sound communication skills, proficient in written and spoken English.
Ability to work in a physically demanding role.
