Job Description: Osteopath - Musculoskeletal Setting
Northern Spinal & Sports Injury Clinic is a multidisciplinary allied health practice located in Melbourne for over 20 years. We offer a comprehensive range of services including Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, and Clinical Pilates. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Osteopath to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality Osteopathic services to a diverse range of private patients, including private third-party, TAC, and WorkCover cases.
- Conduct thorough Osteopathic consultations, which may involve manual therapy within clinical rooms and exercise rehabilitation in a gym setting.
- Manage patients with professionalism and care, empowering them to eventually self-manage their conditions.
- Utilise a variety of ancillary services such as electrotherapy, shockwave therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, plasma injections, and more to assist in patient recovery.
- Perform core assessments using real-time ultrasound to assess the muscles of the pelvic floor and core.
- Utilise VALD equipment to measure global strength and use this data to construct effective exercise programs to aid patient recovery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to share ideas and concepts in managing conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
- Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in Osteopathy and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree + Masters in Osteopathy or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Proven experience in a musculoskeletal setting, with a focus on manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and provide clear instructions and advice.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities to ensure effective patient care and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in physiotherapy.
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate patient needs and create a comfortable, non-rushed environment.
