About St Peter’s College

Founded in 1847, St Peter’s College is an Anglican boys’ School located adjacent to the CBD of Adelaide.

Our vision is to be an exceptional community of learning.

With students from Early Learning Years to Year 12, the School caters for a wide range of student backgrounds and abilities.

We believe that diversity contributes powerfully and directly to the quality of a boy’s education. We are committed to being a boys’ School that promotes responsible relationships and positive attitudes towards girls and women. We are uncompromising in being a safe and inclusive learning community respectful of diverse backgrounds of race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and nationality.

Outdoor Education at St Peter's College

Outdoor Education is a fundamental, memorable and compulsory component of the St Peter’s College Senior School experience.

Our students are encouraged and supported to expand their capabilities and extend their skills in group activities. Students learn about our wonderful South Australian natural environment, explore the indigenous connections to the land and consider personal journeys in connection with the journey of others. Many students reflect on their Pushing the Boundaries experience (our sequential Outdoor Education program) as a significant milestone of their time at St Peter's College and a turning point for growth and personal development.

About the position

The Outdoor Education Group Facilitator will assist the Outdoor Education Department to deliver the School’s Outdoor Education program and activities. Facilitators will work directly with students, ensuring they are well prepared and supported appropriately whilst participating in their Outdoor Education experiences. This role is primarily field based with additional preparation, set-up, and pack-up activities.

As the successful applicant you will:
Have a willingness to support the School’s values and Anglican ethos.
Wilderness First Aid Certificate.
Work collaboratively as part of the Outdoor Education Team to deliver exceptional outdoor learning experiences for students.
Build positive relationships and rapport with students.
Use the Pushing the Boundaries (PTB) programs to deliver exceptional learning in the environment, sustainable living, group dynamics, wellbeing, and Indigenous education.

Engage with the broader school community whilst on campus.

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to have a South Australian Working with Children Check and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education & Care (RRHAN-EC) Certificate - Fundamentals and Masterclass.

Please refer to the position description for further information regarding the key responsibilities and position specification.
