APMG is looking for multiple Brushands and/or Experienced painters to join our rapidly growing team.
Work is mainly residential and commercial in various sites across Melbourne. Travelling to different sites in your own van/car or Ute is required.

Duties include:
Painting to the highest standard of workmanship - surface prep, as well as mixing and matching
Applying protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish
Thoroughly cleaning equipment, paint mixing area and work area
Installing, repairing and maintaining all sorts of internal surfaces, walls to ceilings
Safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials and other hazardous materials
Familiarity with common paint brands and colours, varnishes, wallpapers and other finishing products
Understanding of colour mixing by selecting and preparing paints to achieve required colours
Familiar with mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
Understanding of how to use appropriate products to protect, maintain and decorate surfaces of buildings and structures
Ability to safely and effectively:
Erecting and using ladders and planks etc to work safely at all heights
Wash, scrape, sand and smoothen interior and exterior surfaces before paintwork, varnishing or applying other products
remove old paint and wallpaper and prepare surfaces
fix woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
Cleanliness and know-how of paint splattering and understanding how to effectively placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from splattering
Familiarity with appropriate cleaning products to clean equipment and work areas without causing damage
Additional desirable skills (but not essential):
Trade qualified (AQF Certificate IV or above)
Ability to repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames
Ability to hang wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
First Aid, WAH (Working at Heights) certificate, EWP (Elevating Work Platforms) Yellow Card, High-Risk license.
White or Red Card
"Victorian Working with Children Check" or apply for one upon joining our team.
Must have:
Drivers license
Own vehicle
A good understanding of workplace health and safety rules and the ability to follow safe working principles
This position is only open to Australian citizens, permanent residency visa holders or New Zealand citizens living in Australia.
