Our Parks Workers play a key role in maintaining and preserving the Sunshine Coasts’ beautiful parks and reserves by undertaking horticultural and landscape improvements activities and through utilisation of various plant equipment as part of their day-to-day activities.
The Park Worker is responsible for carrying out plant operation activities, delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day maintenance of parks, natural areas, roadside vegetation and landscape improvement activities.
About you
As the face of Council, you will provide excellent customer service and ensure work is carried out in a timely manner, while working as part of a pro-active, high performing team.
While possessing well developed team and leadership qualities, you also have an eye for detail and can work autonomously.
Your horticultural/turf knowledge should demonstrate a strong understanding of soil science, plant identification, and pest & disease management.
- A Certificate II of Horticulture or relevant trade experience is essential.
- Relevant plant licences as required.
- Experience in a hands-on role maintaining efficient and effective day to day horticultural/turf maintenance.
- Physical agility and level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring, frequent heavy lifting and bending.
Pre-Employment Medical Required
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring, frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a comprehensive pre-employment medical assessment.
