About the Opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional person to join our client’s team of exceptional Bookkeepers as the organisations go-to Payroll Superstar! Located near Charlestown Shopping Centre, they have been providing tailored solutions for more than 200 clients from a variety of industries, for the last 20 years. In 2022, they were finalists, Top 10 Bookkeepers at the Australian Accounting Awards. As well as finalists, Top 10 Bookkeepers at the National Women in Finance Awards for 2022, 2021 and 2020.
About the Role
This is a newly created role to keep up with the exciting growth period for the organisation. In this role you will be providing payroll services to a dedicated portfolio of quality, long term clients. Being a passionate and effective relationship builder is key to this role as you will essentially be an extension for their business and trusted confidant.
The duties and responsibilities will include:
Set up all aspects of the payroll function in the accounting software package
Process Payroll & Superannuation payments
Prepare and lodge Payroll Tax and annual Workers Compensation declarations
Assist clients with award interpretation
Assist clients with annual Fairwork reviews and increases for employees
Reconcile the end of year Payroll and lodgement with the ATO
Set up new employees being on-boarded into the business

About You
The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional who is able to look at the BIGGER picture of the payroll function for a client and see themselves of an extension of that business. You will be an effective communicator who is able to build rapport with people and loves talking with clients.
You will be an expert award interpreter who is able to be familiar with multiple awards for a range of industries. Time management and good organisation skills are also key in succeeding in the role as well as experience using Xero.
