About the role
The Pedagogy andPractice Leader in Early Childhood will support the Director in the overall operations of the services and assist in developing the team to provide high quality education and care. This role will also include building the capabilities of the educators and proactively contributing to achieving Yarm Gwanga and the University goals through integrated strategic initiatives, which span UNE’s academic, corporate, community and partner activities. Under the direction of the Director/Nominated Supervisor, the Pedagogy andPractice Leader in Early Childhood is responsible for ensuring that effective teaching and ethical research is planned for, developed and implemented at both the Preschool and Early Education service as well as the Vacation Care program.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Early Childhood (approved by ACECQA), current NSW Teacher Accreditation and extensive experience with children aged 0-5 years, preferably in long day care or centre based care. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and excellent knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations, and the National Quality Framework. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or My Time Our Place including experience in mentoring and guiding a team of teachers and educators in effectively implementing quality teaching programs.

Yarm Gwanga Preschool & Early Education Centre and Yarm Gwanga Vacation Care are the University’s approved education and care services, providing services for the University and the wider local community. The Centre’s aim is to function as an extended family to provide children with security, warmth and love which is essential for their growth and development. Our professional and dedicated carers provide a program that enables children to learn through exploration and stimulating experiences. We aspire to create an environment that provides enjoyable and creative learning.
Yarm Gwanga Preschool & Early Education Centre is approved to educate and care for 56 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years and the Yarm Gwanga Vacation care service is approved for 50 children.
