Be recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Peer Mental HealthSupport Worker (Lived Experience) to join a leading Not for Profit.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- They work alongside a multidisciplinary team, engaging consumers actively and providing emotional support.
- Peer Support Workers contribute to service delivery aspects such as intake interviews, service promotion, partnership work, and case reviews.
- Engage consumers, building trusting relationships and providing support through outreach and center-based activities.
- Learn about consumers' interests, connections, and assist in building their capacity to be part of the community.
- Provide emotional support by sharing lessons from personal Lived Experiences and promoting strength-based, recovery-oriented models.
- Participate in team activities, ensuring continuity of care and comprehensive service provision.
- Cooperate with a multi-disciplinary team, engage in reflective practice, and contribute to service evaluations.
- Valid Australian Driver License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Working with Children Check and Police Check.
- Lived experience of mental illness, Mental Health crisis, or caring for someone with mental illness.
- Experience in the public or private Mental Health system.
- Computer literacy, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Mental Health Qualification (Certificate IV level or above) or willing to obtain within 2 years.
