About VMIAVictorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the People and projects that help Victorians thrive. We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio, established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients, ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.We help our clients prepare for, prevent, or reduce the impact of harm. You are a confident communicator with a passion for delivering an excellent customer experience.You will join our vibrant and close-knit People and Culture team and report to the Senior People & Culture Partner.What you do
Identifying solutions that respond to client needs and challenges in a targeted way.
Provide employee relations advice to leaders and managers and manage cases end to end.
Act on escalations from the People Services team to deliver appropriate advice and outcomes to people leaders and team members.
Have a comprehensive understanding of our people policies and procedures and provide timely, accurate, and consistent advice.
Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and various People and Culture documentation as appropriate to ensure compliance with legislation and contemporary practices.
Offering support and guidance to people leaders and employees who are setting and managing performance and development plans.
Provide process support for employee lifecycle activities in partnership with People Services to ensure a good people experience.
Supporting the Senior P&C Partner with cyclical workforce planning, talent management, and related employee data management.
Contribute to implementing people initiatives and process improvement projects to achieve expected outcomes and continuous improvement.
Contribute to recruitment activities and support the talent acquisition function as needed.

You add value by engaging proactively with leaders leveraging your relationship and understanding of the organisation to achieve outcomes in line with the strategy and plans.
You develop strong working relationships with our external service providers to ensure our program, employee benefits, and wellbeing activities are delivered according to expectations
About youThis role would suit an autonomous and seasoned human resource professional with demonstrated experience working as a People and Culture/HR Advisor, Generalist or Business Partner.
You have broad generalist experience with a focus on advisory preferably within a similarly complex organisation, financial services, or corporate/professional services.
You are confident with the ability to provide strategic advice and have proven experience influencing leaders to make sound and balanced decisions.
Experienced in navigating complex people-related situations with the ability to work through challenging scenarios with stakeholders.
Ability to manage, plan, organise and priorities own workload and timelines to achieve set objectives within specified timeframes.
You are agile and adaptable to change
A strong communicator with a proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Proficient in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite. Oracle will be advantageous.
