Perinatal Infant Mental Health Specialist Clinician
Taree Community Health Service

This position is graded as an Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3, Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, Psychologist & Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist in Training. Graduates from the Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health (Djirruwang Program) may be appointed as a Counsellor Level 3.

About the role:
As the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Specialist, you will provide efficient and effective family focused recovery assessment and care coordination services for people experiencing mental health concerns and their children, families and carers. This Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service position is based within the adult mental health team but also consults across the range of maternity services.

The position will be based within the Manning Mental Health Service in Taree, You will be supported in this position by the Specialist Programs Coordinator, Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Psychiatrist and the rest of the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health team as well as the mental health service based in Taree. You will also receive a thorough orientation program with continued training and educational opportunities provided to support your professional development and career growth.

About you:
As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced clinician that is keen to share knowledge and skills with other clinicians, and work collaboratively to offer best practice care to perinatal women who meet criteria to be seen by the Manning Mental Health Team. Your previous experience with parents with infants where parents are experiencing psychosocial and mental health problems in the perinatal period and demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent-infant relationship and infant development will be essential to your success in this position.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases - this is a Category A position. Please read and understand NSW Health policy directive (PD2022_030). All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in the policy.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
