Your new team

The Mid West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS) is committed to working with consumers during their recovery by offering holistic and evidence-based treatment.
The Perinatal Mental Health Service within MWAMHS has been established to provide a consultation liaison service to the Joan Kirner Hospital obstetrics and midwifery team.
As part of our team you will provide assessment and treatment for women requiring help with a range of perinatal related mental health issues, including but not limited to; Depression, PTSD, pregnancy related grief, anxiety etc.

Your new role:
Provide detailed mental health assessments and evidence supported treatments
Utilise a systematic approach to identify women requiring a mental health intervention in the antenatal period and post partum period
Provide appropriate obstetric care to manage the known obstetric and neonatal risks associated with mental illness in the antenatal period
Provide accessible mental health care for those women identified from either primary, secondary, tertiary or community services
Maintain a sustainable, collaborative service system to deliver an integrated model of practice
Liaise and coordinate with perinatal mental health support services for clients

About you:
This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.

Demonstrated experience in public mental health service
Experience in providing psycho-education to consumers and carers
Highly developed analytical skills
Demonstrated experience to provide primary and secondary consultation to stakeholders
Ability to provide education and professional development to healthcare workers
