The Operating Suite and Anaesthetic Assessment Clinic pharmacy team develop and deliver clinical pharmacy services to the Operating Suites, Anaesthetic Assessment Clinics and Acute Pain Services across Monash Health. The team provides leadership of quality use of medicine improvement activities, supports the Formulary and Procurement teams to implement initiatives as well as communicate and manage medicines shortages in the Operating Suites.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced hospital pharmacist to lead and support the growing team of pharmacists in this part time role.
Day in the Life
Working closely with the Surgical Team Leaders you will lead and develop the clinical pharmacy services in Operating Suites and Anaesthetic Assessment Clinic to provide expertise in medication management within a multidisciplinary team.
In this important role you will:
- Support, guide and work alongside your team members to provide a consistently safe, high quality, efficient and effective service
- Coordinate daily workflow, staffing and priorities
- Support the training of pharmacy staff and students, with assistance from our team of Clinical Educators
- Ensure relevant key performance targets are met or exceeded
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities
About You
You already have significant hospital pharmacy, clinical and leadership experience with proven abilities in developing and implementing new services and in assessing quality improvements. You are highly professional, lead by example and role-model expectations to others. Your positive approach is infectious and people enjoy working with you.
A relevant postgraduate qualification, such as Master of Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Stage 2 or Stage 3 will be highly regarded.

- Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist
You’ll be joining a pharmacy department that supports your development, including through in-house learning programs and attendance at relevant forums and conferences. Our Team Leaders also have opportunities to act up as Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy to provide leave cover and enable professional development of our Team Leaders. Our Pharmacy leadership team is highly regarded and will work with you to further develop your skills and expertise, positioning you for potential advancement down the track.
