About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician at Scott Memorial Hospital you will provide individualised excellent patient care within a health service environment to maximise the health outcomes for the patient. Role will involve but not limited to dispensing, stock management, supply and purchasing. The role is supported by an enthusiastic team of dedicated staff, onsite orientation is provided and ongoing education is encouraged. You will be supported by Health Service Manager, Clinical Manager, Nurse Unit Managers in Maternity Unit and Operating Theatre/ Day Stay Unit along with the facility Clinical Nurse Educator, Quality Coordinator.

Scone is a town in the Upper Hunter Shire in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2006 census, Scone had a population of 4,624 people. Scone is affordable and relaxed, Scone has the benefits of a country town with familiar friendly faces and true country experiences. Scone is less than 3 hours from Sydney, two hours from Newcastle and one and a half hours to Tamworth. It is known as 'The Horse Capital of Australia' and claims to be the second-largest horse breeding area in the world, after Kentucky in the United States. The equine focus of the town is reflected in numerous ways: it is the home to the Australian Stockhorse Association; the Hunter thoroughbred breeding industry which is reputedly the second largest breeding area in the world; the district has some of the country’s longest established pony clubs; there is a thriving polo and polocrosse community.
You will be working with a dedicated team of Pharmacists, Medical staff, Registered Nurses, Endorsed Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing in supporting excellent care to our patients in collaboration with patients, families and carers. You will be supported by Pharmacy team, District pharmacy services, Antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist, District pharmacy educator, Clinical Nurse educator and a Quality Coordinator on site Monday to Friday.

If you are an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician with great communication (both written and verbal), leadership and teamwork skills, we encourage you to apply. You will have a high attention to detail and the capacity to work unsupervised with clear understanding of scope of practise is a must.
