The Policy Advisor is an essential member of the Office of the CEO team, developing organisational policy across a diversity of community sector programs providing supports to children and young people in residential care, homelessness, unaccompanied humanitarian minors, Aboriginal training and education.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work across the organisation to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships. This role requires a proactive self-starter with a passion for policy writing, a strong understanding of systems and processes, and the ability to disseminate and apply legislative and contractual requirements into practical and comprehensible written documents.

The candidate
The successful candidate will have strong policy, written communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

- A legal background or knowledge and experience in working with legislation and/or developing policy.
- A knowledge of the community sector advantageous
- Develop and complete reviews of organisational and operational policies, procedures, forms and guidelines within scheduled timeframe.
- Lead collaborative approaches to policy development ensuring relevancy and engagement.
- Interpret organisational and operational policies and procedures for internal customers to contribute to awareness and understanding of regulatory or contractual requirements.
- Investigate emerging issues and formulate options for consideration by managers and/or senior management ensuring that all relevant aspects have been taken into consideration.
- Undertake projects as directed, ensuring successful completion within the agreed timeframe.
- Assist in preparing operational training material to support policy
- Monitor, evaluate and report on compliance with regulations and internal controls across a range of Marist180 programs, including highlighting potential breaches of contract or areas of unmanaged compliance risk.
- Maintain Policy Register and all policy associated documentation and provide reports as required.
- Provide support in accreditation and associated audits across a broad field of service standards.
