About the role
We are looking for a Power Automation Specialist or Power Platform Specialist to join our Technology team in a newly created position. This role is offered on a maximum 12 month full-time contract basis and can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Applications Manager, you will play a crucial role in streamlining processes and enhancing operational efficiency within our organisation. Leveraging your expertise in Power Platform and workflow optimisation, you will collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities for automation, design efficient workflows, and implement innovative solutions that drive productivity and reduce manual effort.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Designing end-to-end workflows and automation solutions tailored to specific business needs and requirements.
- Implementing automation solutions using industry-standard tools and frameworks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Conducting comprehensive analyses of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand workflow requirements and business objectives.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation, driving ongoing enhancements to automation capabilities and processes.
- Developing and maintaining a strategic roadmap for automation initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
- Identifying suitable automation technologies, tools, and platforms to support process automation efforts.
- Documenting workflows and continually measuring and reporting on benefits realisation to Executive Management.
- Integrating automation solutions with existing systems, applications, and data sources to enable seamless information flow and process orchestration.
- Overseeing and adhereing to the firm's agile software project management framework.
- Pursuing continuous improvement and innovation by staying updated on automation trends and technologies and driving enhancements to automation solutions and processes.
- Developing and executing comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of automation solutions.
- Identifying and troubleshooting issues and collaborate with development teams to address defects and refine automation workflows.
- Creating detailed documentation, user guides, and training materials to support the adoption and usage of automation solutions.
- Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate end-users and stakeholders on automation best practices and usage guidelines.
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in a similar role and possess the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong experience and certification in the use of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate mandatory).
- Proven experience in automation, workflow optimisation, and process re-engineering.
- Proficiency in automation tools and technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA), workflow management systems, scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and integration platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in relevant automation and workflow technologies (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism,) are desirable.
- Technical knowledge and business awareness.
- Strong all-round technical ability.
- Team working, time management, communication, organisational skills.
