Anglicare’s Children & Families have a long history of providing family and children support services, including family intervention, foster and kinship care, counselling, relationship support and much more. Our Family Intervention Service works to preserve families or assist in reunifying a child with their family after a period of out of home care.
About the Position
We are looking for a passionate Child and Youth Practitioner to join our team based in Toowoomba on a either a full time or part time fixed term contract for 18 months.
As a Child and Youth Practitioner, you will provide early intervention and prevention services to children/young people and their parents/ carers/ guardians who are at risk of developing or showing early signs of a Mental Health concern. You will work primarily with children and young people through the provision of support, mediation, case management, advocacy and counselling.
The position aims to engage at risk children and young people to keep them connected with their families, education, training, work and wider community.

Skills/Experience:
You have experience positively engaging with children/young people and families with complex needs in a supportive/therapeutic role
You can conduct holistic needs assessments including: recommending appropriate referrals/external services, developing goals and case plans, providing current resources
You understand and can adhere to relevant legislation and guidelines
You are able to effectively case manage and work with a range of core services
You can develop and implement evidence-based programs that improve social skills, self-esteem, confidence, mental health and wellbeing
You would like to be involved in the development of policy, service models, strategies and evaluation mechanisms to ensure high-quality outcomes
Essential Requirements
Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioural Science or similar
Current Blue Card
Current COVID-19 Vaccination Evidence
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
Current QLD Driver Licence & own reliable vehicle
