Job description

The Presales Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in our organisation, acting as a trusted technical advisor to our customers and prospects. This position is responsible for understanding client technical and stakeholder landscape, designing tailored professional services solutions, identifying opportunity roadmaps and collaborating closely with the sales team to ensure the successful acquisition of new business. The position is also key in monitoring market trends to assist in informing product/market fit and bringing new products and services to market. 

The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of on-premise and cloud technologies, and the ability to refine complex concepts into tailored content applicable to a broad range of audiences. 

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Consultation:
- Engage with potential clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance and consultancy in determining appropriate technical solutions and roadmaps to achieving business outcomes.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align technical / service offerings with customer requirements.
- Engage with potential clients to understand the key stakeholders in the organisation and the technical maturity of both the stakeholders and the organisation.


Solution Design:
- Create customised technical proposals and solutions that address the specific needs of each customer.
- Develop detailed architecture diagrams, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging cloud technologies to propose innovative solutions.


Product Knowledge:
- Maintain a deep understanding of our Professional Services service catalogue and stay current with updates and advancements.
- Articulate the benefits and value propositions of our services to customers.
- Identify market trends and provide feedback to assist in continual product / service development.
- Maintain and up-to-date knowledge of AWS-related partner technical and funding programs


Demonstrations and Presentations:
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the functionality and benefits of our solutions.
- Address technical inquiries and concerns during client meetings.


Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Development, and Support, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and training sessions to enhance team expertise.
- Assist marketing to develop go to market materials and marketing campaigns.

Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Solution Architectures, implementation guides, and case studies.
- Assist in the creation of SOW’s, WAFR’s, RFPs and RFIs.
 

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing Solution Architect, Presales Engineering or consulting role within the Professional Services consulting market.
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with the design and implementation of cloud-native services, DevSecOps practices, containerization and serverless technologies. 
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences ranging from engineers to C-Suite/board. 
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to design innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve technically complex and ambiguous problems into logical, structured implementation roadmaps. 
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) or equivalent experience
