The successful applicant in this role will:
- Prepare and provide high level advice and support to senior officers with respect to the development and statewide implementation of strategic policy initiatives.
- Initiate, lead and manage teams and projects to successfully develop strategic policy, guidelines and statewide service delivery implementation plans.
- Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary inclusive education processes and assessment and reporting procedures occurring at a state, national and commonwealth level.
- Implement and evaluate environmental scanning to identify policy gaps and develop appropriate response strategies, including the preparation of major policy papers, briefings, reports, submissions and articles.
- Establish performance and accountability frameworks including indicators, measures and reporting regimes related to student services.
- Provide leadership with respect to the strategic direction, activities and priorities and ensure the effectiveness of directorate policies, standards and procedures.
- Monitor, analyse and evaluate activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals and to inform future planning.
- Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of specific funding and manage reporting requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration processes with Queensland state schools, together with major partners and other relevant agencies and stakeholders.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
