We are looking for a driven, operationally focused safety leader to join our Safety Area of Expertise (AoE) team as a Principal Advisor – Safety. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your partnership building skills and your ability to lead strategic improvement. You’ll be a key player in building the Safety culture in a sustainable way across your region and beyond.

Reporting to the Practice Lead Safety and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within the Safety AoE team you will be:
Supporting and leading safety improvement projects whilst providing support and advice to multiple product groups, operational sites and support teams
Managing the global safety tool simplification program of work
Fostering collaborative efforts to identify and share leading practices, drawing upon internal and external benchmarking
Supporting Product Groups and assets in their safety maturity journey through effective assessments and guidance
Driving Health Safety & Environment audit, governance, and compliance activities
Working with a broad range of stakeholders in the deployment of the global HSES strategy by providing guidance and governance on key initiatives
About You
To succeed in this role, you have:
Extensive experience in a role with safety responsibilities
Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Systems; standards and key risk management and assurance processes
A University degree in Health, Safety, engineering or a related field experience desired but not essential
An interest in how we learn, share and replicate incident learnings across the business
But most importantly, you are recognised for your:
Ability to translate business requirements into practical application in an operational environment
Strong communication, problem solving and analysis skills
Demonstrated ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders in various contexts and from different background
Experience in mining or similar heavy industry would be considered as an asset
Strong project management skills
