The Opportunity
As senior member of KBR’s Water team you will have the opportunity to be involved in and provide leadership on a wide variety of challenging projects that expand your skill base and keep you engaged.
You’ll be a key member of our Water team, who has secured a variety of challenging projects. This includes supporting Melbourne Water in delivering better outcomes for the industry, community and environment through its latest Engineering Services Panel. KBR is part of a team (known as Water4Good) that is striving to create a positive legacy through supporting social and sustainable initiatives on projects as well as a number of regional water utility panel positions (including Gippsland Water, Barwon Water, Yarra Valley Water, Southern Rural Water & Goulburn Valley Water).
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for investigations, designs, and documentation for wide-ranging water-related infrastructure works encompassing water and wastewater systems, including pumps, pipelines, water and wastewater treatment facilities and associated civil engineering works.
You will use your well-developed technical skills to project management engineering tasks, including investigations, and preparation of technical reports, designs and drawings, contract documents and technical specifications.
Other key responsibilities
Manage assigned tasks and project team in terms of defined time, budget, quality and HSE parameters including project outcomes, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Prepare written reports as required on projects
Present reports to meetings and other venues as required on project work
Develop technical skills and profession within KBR
Actively maintains and enhances technical reputation and relationships in relevant industry sector
Demonstrate an understanding of client needs and achieve a high level of client satisfaction
Display an appropriate balance of practicality and innovation
Liaise as required with project management and/or client to ascertain needs and provide regular project updates
Lead the preparation of large and small bids and other marketing initiatives
Explore and pursue (as directed) marketing opportunities
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who can provide strong technical leadership and oversight. You will be motivated by achievement, outcome-focused and present professionally and in a friendly manner to peers, clients and Stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in strategic planning and investigation and can produce high-quality reports and proposals.
You will have the following skills & experience;
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil)
Previous experience in a similar senior role in the water sector
Strong communication/interpersonal skills
Proficiency in strategic planning and investigation studies, and design for pipelines, pumping stations and treatment plants
Proven ability to prepare high-quality study and design reports and proposals is essential
Familiarity with Victorian water sector authorities and key personnel
Registered Professional Engineer CPEng
Demonstrable contribution to inventions, new designs or techniques which are materially significant in solving important problems.
