The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Learning and Development team supports our stakeholders to meet the needs of the people served by the Department of Communities.

Our stakeholders include Department staff, community services partner agencies, and foster carers.

Our services include:

  • Learning opportunities – e.g. programs and courses (including mandatory corporate and role specific courses).
  • Consultation and collaboration with stakeholders regarding their needs.
  • Promotion of stakeholder learning and development services.
  • Coordination of Social Work student placements in the Department.
These services can be delivered face-to-face, online or by individualised and work-based learning methods.

The Opportunity
As a Principal Consultant Aboriginal Learning & Development 50(d) you will be responsible for providing leadership, advice and coordination on L&D strategy and competency based training and assessment, particularly for Aboriginal Cultural Learning.

You will collaborate with staff and stakeholders to ensure service delivery builds capacity and relationships while achieving desired outcomes for Aboriginal families.

There is currently 1 fixed term position available for immediate filling for a period of 12 months.
