Job Description

AECOM's Energy Team has an opportunity for a Principal Electrical Design Drafter in Melbourne.

As part of this role, you will assist with providing drafting design input and technical support in the production of engineering drawings and documentation for small to large scale projects. You will play an active role in all technical aspects of small to major energy projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Manage drafting outputs to ensure on time delivery.
  • Producing Electrical drawings: including electrical layouts, set outs, single line diagrams, secondary schematics, connection schedules.
  • Complete drafting reviews on design drawings prepared in the team
  • Quotation analysis.
  • Review best practice to ensure efficiency.
  • Mentor/support drafting team.
Qualifications

As a successful Principal Electrical Design Drafter in our Energy team you will ideally have around 10-15 years proven experience in electrical design, as well as the following attributes:
  • HV design drafting experience preferred, 500kV, 220kV & 66kV.
  • Strong technical expertise with experience in designing protection and control circuits.
  • Rail and Electrical Industry experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of completing tasks.
  • Experience using AutoCAD. Microstation & Revit experience advantageous.
  • ProjectWise experience advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Design
