AddressWe are currently seeking a Principal Engineer Power Systems Design to join the Queensland Rail HV Systems Engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Brisbane CBD.
This role leads a highly specialised team of engineers, professionals and technicians that delivers electrical engineering infrastructure solutions to the railway.
This role is at the centre of its discipline in Queensland in providing engineering advice and certified solutions in modification and addition to the existing network and power system infrastructure.
The role is key at providing a diverse range of capability including;
- specifying and engineering of power system equipment at points of supply (feeder stations, track sectioning cabins)
- specifying and engineering of primary and secondary plant
- modelling of existing and future power demands
- providing engineering studies that assess and recommend solutions for augmenting power capacity to meet demands
- developing power system technology through innovation and design
- providing engineering support to the project delivery team
- maintaining safety critical documentation used to operate the traction power network and providing guidance on HV systems of safety

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and be a Registered Professional Engineer of QLD.
