About this role
Queensland Rail Information, Communications & Technology (ICT) is an agile, multidisciplinary, group of professionals who work hard to be trusted and valued business partners within Queensland Rail and our community. We are currently looking for a high performing Principal ICT Solution Architect to join us based in our Brisbane CBD office.
Reporting to the Manager ICT Solutions, this role will provide enterprise wide architecture and technical direction, across solutions encompassing multiple technology projects. As the Principal ICT Architect, you be responsible for architecting solutions to solve business problems using established standards, principles and processes that govern solution design considering the domains of business, technology, application, data and information architectures
This role requires a solid understanding of technical architectures and roadmaps, as well as a solid understanding of business, technology, application, data and information architectures. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, and be able to deal with changing priorities. With high level communication and collaborative skills, you will be able to support others in the team whilst working within it.
About you:
- Experience in interpreting business needs and being able to play back solutions in language that the business understands
- Experience in multiple application, integration and modern technology capabilities
- A collaborative style, and confidence in working with Enterprise Architects, Operational domain leads, ICT Business Partners, and our Business customers.
- Excellent skills in costing and documenting solution options and recommendations
You can expect some of your duties to include:
- Identify and analyse business issues and lead the technical design of solutions
- Assist in the maintenance of application technical architecture and standards
- Provide advice on the technical aspects of system development and integration
- Providing assurance to projects in flight, and understanding and articulating technical risk during delivery
- Supporting Enterprise Architects and Business Partners in assessing requirements
- Supporting RFX procurement processes with technical reviews of responses
