As the Principal Investigator you will have responsibility for the following:
- Manage, conduct, report on and review workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct/corrupt conduct made against departmental staff in line with organisational and government policy.
- Supervise and manage a team of Senior Investigators to undertake workplace investigations in accordance with relevant guidelines and standards whilst completing investigations within Public Service Commission and Crime and Corruption Commission timeframes.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders including State and Federal Police, Crown Law, the Crime and Corruption Commission, and other government agencies and represent the department at related forums as required.
- Work cooperatively with other divisional staff to achieve business plan objectives.
- Provide high level advice to clients in relation to the investigation processes and ethics related issues.
- Provide high level advice and prepare reports, correspondence and briefing notes for the approval of the Minister, Director-General and other clients.
- Undertake research in areas relevant to the functions of the unit, including investigative techniques, misconduct and disciplinary matters, potential breaches of the Code of Conduct, and trends in learning and development as required.
- Provide advice and support to clients on misconduct prevention strategies and ethical standards, promoting ethics awareness throughout the department, and other learning and communication strategies.
- Develop, apply and review internal investigation frameworks and support the delivery of training initiatives in this regard.
- Establish and maintain liaison with external law enforcement bodies following allegations of work related criminal activity and/or corrupt conduct.
- Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history).
- Attach a 2-page written statement in response to the attached role description.
