About the Role
As a principal Planner your key focus is to generate and maintain the 2 Year work plan for the Metals Exploration (MEX) – Australia team.
Integrating approved data acquisition activities from Generative and Country teams to form an executable plan informed by operational performance metrics and logistical constraints that realistically accommodates above ground risks and access timeframes.
Monitor and ensure correct and timely approvals are in place in order to deliver the approved Budget work program, with options to unlock subsequent work programs where base programs are successful.
Maintain and provide oversight of budget delivery, completed quarterly financial reforecasts, reconcile and report month-end performance against plan, and provide 90-Day plans.
Reporting to Manager Exploration, your accountabilities include:
- Maintain regular routines across Functional stakeholders to ensure they receive sufficient lead-time to achieve tasks, monitor delivery, and escalate deviations.
- Consolidate inputs from MEX Operations and Exploration teams and the Functions teams to form annual 2-year budget plans; proactively seek inputs from MinAu stakeholders regarding key deliverable (access agreements, approvals, etc) timing to ensure MExAu plan is achievable.
- Monitor operational delivery of plan against committed Key Decision Point milestones – escalate deviations; maintain regular routines to share progress updates and provide feedback.
- Consolidate and share the approved Fiscal Year budget book.
- Support the culture of continuous improvement through identification of opportunities, development of process, and adopting and spreading best practice. Celebrate and communicate our initiatives across MExAu team.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management or Exploration, with a deep understanding of operational delivery challenges, and executable plan development.
- Capability in either Primavera or MS Project (or equivalent) planning packages is highly desire.
- Understanding of BHP budgeting system (PRIME) would be as advantageous.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of, either project management with operational delivery experience, or planning and execution of complex exploration programs.
- Experience working in a team environment, collaboration and influencing ability across diverse stakeholder groups, with successful delivery.
- Proactive, independent contributor with strong influencing skills.
- Great communicator at multiple levels across the industry
- Strong commitment to safety and sustainability
Location
We are open for either Full-time or Part-Time hire, with ideally minimum 2 days/ week commitment or more.
Flexible roster is also offer and can be discuss to best suite your availability.
You will be base at our corporate office in either Perth or Adelaide.
