About the role
Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide, reporting directly to the Head of Reservoir Engineering, you will provide authoritative advice and guidance, through the application of your broad technical expertise and industry knowledge. As the Principal Reservoir Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to help shape the culture of the Subsurface team, whilst being directly involved across aspects of many of Santos' most exciting projects.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide RE Subsurface Assurance as required across Santos business units, and Function
- Provide expert RE support to Santos teams as required
- Support and recommend the use of appropriate technology and requirements to ensure studies are focused on value-adding activities.
- Work with asset teams to assist with work scope for field delineation and development plans
- Work directly with asset teams to bring high-value studies to a close as required
- Bring forward new technologies or work processes to improve the value of Santos' portfolio
- Mentor and technically develop reservoir engineering staff across the company, including provide recommendations of training requirements
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Reservoir Engineering
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.
You will be experienced in:
- Self-starter with the drive and initiative to achieve results
- 15 years+ experience in reservoir engineering, including complementary experience in subsurface geoscience and engineering and operations disciplines.
- In depth understanding of reservoir modelling and simulation, with high level working knowledge with standard RE tools such as Eclipse, Intersect, Petrel RE and IPM Suite
- Extensive knowledge of PRMS
