Valuer General NSW (VGNSW) is currently seeking a Principal Solution Architect to join their Business Improvement team.
As the Principal Solution Architect, you will lead a team to develop technology solutions and map business requirements to systems and technical requirements to ensure they align with the enterprise architectural plan. You will also design functional specifications to communicate user requirements in technical terms for the development of a spatially enabled workflow project – Valnet III.
This is a key role which provides expertise to inform the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of solutions which integrate with the enterprise architecture.

About you
We are looking for a technical expert and team player. You will be part of a newly formed, dynamic and highly motivated team that will work collaboratively to deliver program and business outcomes.
You will have deep experience in designing technology solutions for complex requirements and working with project teams to deliver business critical systems. Your experience with land and property information and spatial technologies will be crucial to deliver technology transformation outcomes. To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
Knowledge of TOGAF, ITIL or similar framework
Experience in application and data modelling
Experience in the following technologies/frameworks:
Software Development Lifecycle
Integrated spatial solutions
Database migration and data management
Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
Cloud-based systems
Mobile technology and development
About Us
The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer, appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State's land valuation system.
VGNSW provides services to, supports, and where appropriately delegated, delivers relevant functions on behalf of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes:
Defining and setting the standards and policies for the land valuation system for rating and taxing purposes along with the determination of compensation through the compulsory acquisition process to ensure integrity within the NSW Government is upheld.
Monitoring, quality assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
Providing other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations as/when required for other cluster or state-wide government partners; and
Providing professional leadership and stewardship to the valuation industry.
The Business Improvement team is leading a significant technology and operational change across VGNSW, including the creation of a centralised business support function. The design and implementation of business improvement solutions will help to provide the products and services our customers need. With a significant focus on product design and project management, the Business Improvement team will support administrative services, financial transactions, and business processes.
