- A minimum of a 3 year degree in Spatial Science (GIS or Surveying) from a recognised tertiary institution, or a qualification that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor/surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ)
- Registration as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) or Specialist Certification with the Spatial Sciences Institute.
- Certification (General or Specialist) with the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI).
- Cadastral and/or Engineering Endorsement by SBQ.
- Current holder of Class C driver's licence
