Role Summary
The Principal Systems Engineer plays a lead role that will provide external and internal facing technical and engineering services across the System Engineering, System Integration and System Assurance spectrum. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Act as a principal technical consultant for assignment delivery to the contractual requirements
Assignment performance to client satisfaction
Manage a team that provides clear and robust Systems Engineering solutions through a detailed understanding of complex transport infrastructure projects & programmes including Tunnel systems, Rolling Stock, Signalling & Train Control (ETCS, CBTC, ATP etc), Operations & Maintenance.
Manage client relationships related to assignments
Lead development of innovative ideas which deliver service and product growth, client satisfaction improvement or operational performance improvement and for championing the implementation of those ideas.
Add technical expertise to large, complex and strategically important bids and proposals for projects across Australia
Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities
Extensive industry experience in the application of system engineering disciplines and management.
Principal Systems Engineering experience within the Transport sector with proven experience in client-side leadership positions such as a Technical Advisor and/or Systems Engineering / Assurance Manager
A thorough knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and Systems Engineering tools such as IBM, Rational DOORS, MBSE tools etc.
Ability to lead across the whole life cycle of a project from inception to steady state operation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
