About the team
The Procurement team for the Great Western Highway Upgrade Project sits within the Commercial, Performance and Strategy Branch of Infrastructure and Place Division. This team is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of Professional Services Contracts, Minor Works Contracts and Major Works Contracts within the project. In the TfNSW Matrix Model, the team partners with the project team to help deliver the project program within the required milestones.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager (permanent) to join us in the Commercial, Performance and Strategy Branch of Infrastructure and Place. The role focus on the Great Western Highway Upgrade Program which is jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments. The role will include but not limited to:
- Planning and managing the end-to-end procurement process for assigned activities on the Great Western Highway Upgrade Program
- Governance and compliance Input from the procurement cross functional team with relevant policies, standards, procedures and frameworks
- Developing and implementing procurement plans and strategies for assigned procurement activities in consultation with the procurement cross-functional team addressing current and future challenges to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes
- Working in collaboration with the project team to develop the tender evaluation methodology with input from the procurement team.

About you
The successful candidate will likely hold tertiary qualification in Business, commerce and / or equivalent relevant discipline. This is an opportunity to join a high performing team as a Procurement Manager.
You will have:
- Extensive end to end procurement experience in Professional Services Contracts, Minor Works Contract and Major Works Contract
- Experience working with and managing multidisciplinary project teams with a good understanding of the processes for procuring services for different projects
- Managed and overseen the preparation of contracts, including communication with the tenderers through participating in contract negotiations as required to resolve commercial conditions, ensure value for money and allow timely award of contracts
- Be outcomes oriented, consultative, positive, organised and customer focused with well-developed negotiation, influencing and communication skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced development & delivery focussed environment while managing complex procurement across capital projects delivering tangible outcomes
- Strong team orientation, be a strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active and not afraid of getting involved to ensure high quality governance and ethical management of government transaction dealings
- Excellent communication skills both in written and verbal forms and can work autonomously or as part of a team
- You will be required to be highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($138,670) – ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. You can find more information here.
