About the role
The Procurement Officer is a key role working cross functionally to coordinate and provide support to procurement activities that create value for money, reduce risk and make life easier for our schools and offices. Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Advisor, the incumbent along with the team will collaborate to deliver on our strategic goals.
Your key responsibilities :
- Partner with schools and offices to assist with defining non-complex business requirements that deliver value for money with commitment to governance, and social impact.
- Engage cross-functionally to lead and support end-to-end procurement activities within Sourcing and Contracts Management
- Provide standard interpretation, advice and guidance to support school and office stakeholders in procurement principles, practices and outcomes.
- Provide monitoring and resolution support for queries coming through the Procurement Advisory Desk, to ensure all queries are actioned.
- Work collaboratively with the team and undertake routine and ad-hoc analysis of procurement processes and outcomes associated with assigned activities.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in a procurement role or a combination of roles and life experiences requiring similar capabilities that would address the key results areas of this role.
- Experience in project management, analytics or customer interaction would be highly desirable.
- An analytical and enumerate mindset, methodical in resolving ambiguous problems, and to respectfully challenge the status quo.
- Ability to identify and collate data into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods (including Excel skills).
- Work conscientiously in a fast-paced maturing procurement function within a large and decentralized organization.
- Communicate effectively and thoughtfully and establish trust-based relationships with BCE stakeholders to better serve their needs.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications desirable.
- Current/valid Queensland Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of this appointment.
- Currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card.
