The Procurement Specialist manages, controls the procurement and purchasing of materials and products utilised across the organisation including manufacturing and distribution.
The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the procurement process from planning, directing, controlling and coordinating the efficient acquisition of all components, and the service of vital equipment and machinery. This is a critical role within the organization and requires someone with Procurement/Purchasing and Automotive experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering minimum
Experience: At least 2 years' experience in Procurement in automotive/transportation
Duties include:
- Vendor/Supplier research
- Sourcing & selection of suppliers based on market research
- Evaluate bids and proposals to select most suitable vendors that meet quality, cost and timeliness standards
- Contract negotiation to ensure contracts align with organisational objectives
- Supply chain advice
- Compliance, documentation and risk management of supply chain activities
- Performance monitoring and continuous improvement of all activities associated with procurement
- Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with supply chain including geopolitical, economic and logistical risks
- Develop contingency plans to address potential and actual disruptions to supply chain
- Forecast supply chain issues and ensure implications are reflected across the major areas of the business
- Reports to senior management on key performance indicators of the role
- Uses ERP system Netstock
This person in this role collaborates with key departments including Category Management, Operations and Warehousing, Product and Service across all sites and Finance to provide strategic direction for the organisation in achieving its production and Distribution targets. This role is responsible for the establishment and management of key vendor relationships, providing the organisation with up-to-date information of vendor and supply information and interpretation of internal metrics when sourcing and engaging external suppliers and vendors.
