Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement/Ordering Officer to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. As an Procurement/Ordering Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials essential for caravan production. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are key for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Management: Place and track orders for materials and components required for caravan manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Supplier Coordination: Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure availability of materials, negotiate pricing, and resolve any issues that may arise.
3. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and update inventory records to prevent shortages or overstocking.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, delivery schedules, and other relevant documentation in compliance with company policies and procedures.
5. Communication: Collaborate closely with internal teams such as production, logistics, and finance to coordinate order requirements and address any discrepancies or delays.
6. Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address potential issues related to orders, deliveries, or inventory management to minimise disruptions to manufacturing operations.
7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining ordering processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.
- Proficiency in using computer software for order processing, inventory management, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
