Overview
We are looking for passion in user experience and service design. Ultimately, you will make our products and services more user-friendly and intuitive. You will have the support of a Senior Designer in your day-to-day activities as you meet with users to uncover their needs, create designs, and collaborate with other stakeholders to bring them to life.
Reporting to the Senior Designer, you will have autonomy and ownership of your work and a chance to deliver real value to the businesses. This is an opportunity to own your own stream or portion of a platform where you can make strategic calls with the support of your design team, participating in design reviews and so on. The wider technology team is distributed across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and the Philippines, however, the design team primarily resides in Sydney which helps for in-person collaboration.
In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve complex problems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conducting user research and testing
Developing wireframes and task flows based on user needs
Collaborating with Designers and Developers to create intuitive, user-friendly software
Run other relevant UX design techniques and methodologies to explore design problems and develop product concepts (including UI development).
Facilitate design critiques and design reviews, with a strong focus on design improvement and collaborative learning.
Gather information from business stakeholders through workshops, interviews and Q&A sessions to infer relevant customer/business requirements and to shape potential design solutions. Including being able to synthesise findings into insights and actionable outputs
Solve and ideate design solutions, working collaboratively with product and technical teams.
Working with development teams to ensure design quality is maintained throughout the build process.
Use service design techniques to identify existing pain points, moments of opportunity and unmet needs to improve the overall experience of our customers across all touchpoints
Drive design thinking approaches thought the organization, and orchestrate new projects and initiatives that both deliver better customer outcomes and lift the groups design capabilities
Requirements
Proven experience as a UX Designer and Service Designer
Strong portfolio of design project
Background in project management and user research
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
Proficient in design software processes in an Agile context
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
Design thinking and Problem-solving aptitude
Analytical mind with a business acumen
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in Service Design methodologies
Ability to pull together stakeholders from different parts of the business and align them to deliver on better service outcomes
Brilliant facilitator and team player
Skills & Experience
Passionate and purposeful senior designer with proven experience in complex environments
Delivery in UX/Service Design with a strong portfolio
A team player with high emotional intelligence
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Experience working with enterprise software, website, mobile and desktop preferable.
Proven workshop facilitation skills
Ability to prioritise work by balancing impact with ease
Great time management skills
Strong experience prototyping with Drawing, Sketch & Invision pro
Confidence working with and managing design systems
Experience working in Sketch, UXPin, Figma, or others.
Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies.
Experience working independently through the entire UX and SD process, including developing lofi and hifi prototypes, running testing sessions, and monitoring success post release.
