Organisational Scope
The Production Engineer will report to the Production Engineering Manager in the first instance, however will also work closely with the Group Production Engineering Manager.
The Production Engineer’s main customers are:- The design and production engineering departments.
- Australian manufacturing team, including management.
- Supply chain team.
- New products and processes introduction.
- Production costing, BOM’s and routings.
- Design of production tooling, jigs and gauges using SolidWorks CAD.
- Manufacture and verification of production tooling and products OTS’s.
- Production processes development.
- PPAP documentation, including SOP’s and PFMEA's. ie. IATF16949
- Continuous improvement.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
What challenges could you face in this role?
We manufacture and build prototypes onsite. So if you haven't had exposure to a hands on production environment, the level of exposure could be an adjustment. There is also a level of tenacity required and critical thinking when it comes to problem solving on the fly.

Our Ideal Candidate?
You may be a process engineer with on the tools experience in a manufacturing environment, potentially with fabrication experience. Ideally you will be familiar IATF16949 and at least one OEM QMS.
Required Skills, Behaviours and Experience- 3-6 Years experience in production engineering or similar
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the automotive quality systems.
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, CNC machining and assembly production processes.
- Proficient user of the SolidWorks CAD - 3-6 years experience.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to problem solve in a methodical manner, such as root cause analysis of production issues.
