The Role

As Production Manager you will have full responsibility supervising and lead your production team, providing support and leadership in running the day-to-day production operations whilst implementing changes and identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation.

Key responsibilities will include;

Workforce plan current and future business needs.
Recruit, train and develop a production team (supported by P&C team).
Roster effectively and efficiently to ensure the achievement of targets and KPI’s (using Dayforce HCM). Assign tasks/roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand.
Oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure optimal product quality and maximum profit for HFM.
Motivate and supervise work crew to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
Work with relevant internal stakeholders to set production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets.
Conduct forecast to identify potential risks and contingencies in a proposed project.
Plan, organise and manage production schedules
Assess project and resource requirements
Estimate, negotiate and agree budgets and timescales.
Select, order and purchase materials and equipment.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth work operations.
Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials and processed food products.
Ensure products and raw materials are stored properly at optimum conditions.
Determine and ensure delivery to quality control standards.
Ensure and health and safety regulations are met.
Work with the Food Safety & Quality Manager to maintain and comply with existing certifications (HACCP).
Ensure manufacturing and processing staff adhere to all standards and wear appropriate sanitary and protective gear to ensure health and safety.
Monitor every aspect of production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.
Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
Work in a collaborative manner in line with HFM values.
Monitor and provide weekly reporting on performance.
Continually explore ways in which to improve the quality and efficiency of the production process.
Work with buying teams to develop and promote new food products to boost sales and increase generated returns.

Skills Required

Aligned with HFM values.
Experience in the FMCG industry in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, or manufacturing engineering, or in a similar discipline.
Prior experience in a food manufacturing, storage or handling industry. At least 5 years of experience as a food production technician is required
Strong time and project management experience - (Lean Six Sigma experience would be highly regarded).
Working knowledge/experience of WH&S, HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Act and other certifications.
Experience managing and leading a team.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels.
Intermediate level MS Office experience, Word and Excel.
Proven track record in delivering results against set objectives.
