Production Manager - Wetherill Park

The Opportunity
Incredible opportunity for a driven and reliable Production Manager to work in our renowned Gyprock facility in Wetherill Park. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide people and processes leadership to the Gyprock Compounds operations teams. Utilise your constructive leadership skills to manage production teams with no compromise to safety, performance and quality objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing 2 manufacturing lines producing Gyprock Compounds, your team will comprise approximately 27 operators & Team Leaders, with plants running on 24/7 rosters. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage the site Production teams
Facilitate daily Plant performance reviews with shifts as part of daily PPM meeting
Establish and implement a Skills Matrix and Training Programme for the Production team to maximise labour utilisation and OEE performance
Lead daily Production reviews with Management team as part of PPM process
Lead monthly Production reviews with Management as part of MSR process
Lead Production related downtime investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed and feedback provided to production teams
Lead process improvement initiatives
Lead specific cost reduction projects as part of Operational improvement Program
Skills & Qualifications
As a successful candidate, you will have a hands-on approach to management, an exceptional ability to understand production processes, whilst leading production teams from the factory floor.
Hold a degree in Engineering or Management
Experience in continuous improvement programs (Lean, Lean six sigma etc.) applied in a continuous fast-paced manufacturing environment
The ability to manage large teams across different rosters
Experience in using OEE data capture operational systems (SAP & PowerBI desirable)
Experience in Unionised labour workforce
Highly developed communication skills – the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels
A proven ability to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 07:00am – 3:00pm
