We are a fresh meat processing business that serves our retail outlets located around the Perth Metro area and surrounds. We produce over 200 product lines daily from our production facility located south of the river. Our range includes (but is not limited to) beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and value-added products.
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for –
- Undertaking the position of Production Manager, with responsibility for overseeing all production areas.
- Assisting the Factory Manager and other key personnel to develop, maintain, update and implement plans and strategies to improve production operations in order to meet or exceed targets.
- Leading by example and actively promote best OHS&E practices.
- Effectively managing, training and coaching production personnel, including moral and culture.
- Ensuring orders (internal and external) are processed and dispatched correctly.
- Effective staff rostering, including labour hours and spend.
- Being accountable for your own behaviour and actions, always displaying strong leadership.
- Reporting on equipment condition / breakdowns.
- Reporting on stock issues – Quality defects, specification, short supply, short code, excesses, short falls, unfit for purpose etc.
- Daily administrative duties. Including but not limited to, internal and external comms, price changes, rostering, data collation, invoicing, placing orders, stock counts, daily monitoring.
- Assisting the Factory Manager with Stock control and ordering.
- Daily quality, standard and yield checks and verifications.
- Responsibility for production start-up and changeover preparation.
- Adhoc duties as needed from time to time for the benefit of the team and/or the business.
- New staff training, site induction, assistance with employment packs, probation assessment.
As the successful candidate, the experience, attributes and skills you will possess are –
- 3+ years of experience working in a fresh meat production & / or food manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of experience in a management role in a fresh meat production & / or food manufacturing environment.
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, motivate and train staff on daily duties, policies, procedures and standards.
- Experience with effective staff rostering.
- Demonstrated experience of effective stock management.
- Experience and knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Quality requirements.
- General meat processing operations & production understanding.
- High level of decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
- Solid written, electronic and oral communication skills. Effective communication required across multiple levels.
- Comfortable to carry the role and stature of Production Manager.
- High level of negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships, both within and across the broader organisation.
- Ability to gain the support of the team and share our vision and drive.
- Self-directed, innovative and results driven.
