About your role
We are recruiting for a Production Afternoon Shift Manager. The role will report to the Site Operations Manager and will develop the shift as a team with a culture of safety, consistency and responsibility and will ensure reliable delivery of plan, and quality products achieved in highly efficient manner.
What you'll do
- Foster a positive change culture by facilitating open communication and collaboration among team members.
- Coordinate comprehensive training programs to ensure a well-balanced skill set within the team and establish clear succession plans for future needs.
- Provide personalised coaching and leadership to high-performing individuals, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Effectively manage performance and disciplinary issues in alignment with established performance management processes.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and maintaining systems and practices compliant with corporate and legal health and safety requirements.
- Mentor, develop, and manage supervisors while facilitating effective communication across shifts and departments to enhance collaborative working culture and ensure adherence to standard work practices.
- Proficient in managing staff performance issues, ensuring adherence to company policies, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strong advocate for open and effective communication, both within the team and with leadership, to facilitate collaboration and alignment towards shared goals.
- Skilled in developing and enhancing team capability through personalised support, coaching, and opportunities for personal development.
- Experienced in consulting with supervisors on various operational aspects such as rostering, planning, and scheduling to optimise workforce efficiency and minimise overtime.
- Proven track record of promoting and cultivating a hardworking, results-driven, and collaborative workforce, driving engagement and productivity.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while effectively managing priorities, including stakeholder communication, and ensuring operational continuity amidst plant breakdowns and maintenance activities, all while maintaining delivery targets (DIFOT).
