About the Role
Teys Australia is looking for a Slaughter Floor Supervisor to join the production team based at our Rockhampton processing site in Central Queensland. The role will be responsible for working closely with the Slaughter Floor Manager, Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure slaughtering operations run smoothly on a day to day basis.
Role responsibilities:
- Monitor employee workplace health and safety during production, and liaise with site safety teams on recommended improvements
- Supervise employees to ensure product is in compliance with customer specifications (QC) and all procedures are carried out in accordance with the food safety (QA) program
- Certify production levels are maintained and production downtime is minimised
- Maximise yield output and identify deficiencies with department manager
- Reduce material wastage
- Ensure all employees are appropriately trained on tasks, and identify future development needs
- Drive employee engagement and manage manning at approved levels
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- At least five (3) years’ experience within an export slaughtering operation
- Sound working knowledge of product specifications/cuts normally associated with export slaughtering operations
- Sound knowledge of Export Meat Orders
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety
Desirable:
- Possession or satisfactory progress towards completion of AUS-MEAT Beef Accreditation
- Possession or satisfactory progress towards completion of the Cert IV in Business (Frontline Management) or equivalent
- Sound working knowledge of customer specifications
- Demonstrated ability of slaughtering at production speeds
