Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the meatworks facility, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising a team of workers, maintaining quality control standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Oversee and manage production staff, providing direction, guidance, and support.
Ensure team members are trained and competent in their roles.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
Production Management:
Plan, organize, and supervise production operations to meet daily and weekly production targets.
Monitor production processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that arise.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and finished products.
Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues.
Health and Safety:
Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Inventory and Materials Management:
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of necessary materials.
Minimize waste and manage resources efficiently.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production volumes, quality control data, and safety incidents.
Prepare and submit regular reports to the Operations Manager.
Use production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve production processes and implement best practices.
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement among production staff.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a meatworks or food processing facility.
Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
Working Conditions:
The role may involve working in a cold and wet environment typical of meat processing facilities.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required.

Australian Citizen/Permanent Residency/Full Working Rights in Australia are essential
Complete a pre-employment medical check, including a drug and alcohol test
Q-Fever vaccinated (or willing to get)
Be able to provide two professional references.
Be able to work in the cold environment
