The Opportunity  

We are now looking for experienced production team leaders and operators to join our Gyprock manufacturing team across multiple roles. 

If you are interested in a specific term opportunity as a Production Supervisor, you manage the production for the plasterboard business to meet CSR’s safety and plant performance, product quality, customer service, profit and shareholder value added guidelines and targets.

This pivotal role is ideally suited to a highly motivated team player who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys managing the overall production of a highly complex and labour intensive plant.  You will ensure KPIs are achieved, including safety, quality, waste reduction, and cost effectiveness. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Lead Safety, Health and Environment programs on shift
• Improve operational performance (e.g., quality, scrap and output)
• Lead cultural change in the factory, including improving the skill levels of direct reports
• Problem solving and root cause analysis
• Implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
• Optimising the use of labour and materials on site
• Communicating with all stakeholders fostering a proactive working culture and high employee morale 

Skills & Qualifications 

In this hands on role you will lead a skilled production group, focusing on driving process and quality improvements through both people and systems.  Ideally you will have a:

• Background in a Production Supervisors role (or similar)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with either a tertiary or trade qualification
• The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
• Solid background working in a similar manufacturing environment
• Computer skills with experience in SAP & PowerBI (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Genuine commitment to Health & Safety
• A hands-on attitude, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously

Hours of Work: 7 day 8-hour continuous rotating shift roster pattern (40-hour week)
